Journal 25

So. Last week was a big week for me. I had 2 AP tests (stats on tuesday, calc on wednesday) and a choir concert on friday. But because of my efforts, i now have more frees than ever before! It’s so amazing that I soil myself every time i think about it. But really no. It’s interesting how I’ve been in chorus for 9 years, since 4th grade, and I can’t read music, I don’t know what any notes sound like, I don’t have any singing talent, and I’d definitely get made fun of if i went on American Idol. Here’s a picture of me singing on my headset.

I suck at taking pictures of myself.

Anyway, singing is still fun. And one time during a choir rehearsal I tried to sing really low, and I thought that it was even lower than what I tried to do during class during that one lab. In the lab, my lowest singing was 234 Hz, but idk, I wasn’t warmed up or anything in the lab. Still, Noji’s 84 Hz or whatever was just bs. Also I am a beast at pool now. Or as they say in England, “Billiards.” All because of reflection knowledge, I was able to beat my friend 3 times saturday night at landon’s house out of 4. 75% victory rating! WHOOO. I only lost that one time because he got lucky and shot 3 of his balls in on the break shot. Such ridiculous luck… I’ve never seen anything like it.

Journal 24

So on Wednesday, I went to Kaiser Bowl to body board with Dustin, Kai, Troy, Sean, and David. The forecast said something ridiculous like a 8+ south swell or something, so we went, and I thought I was gonna die. But I didn’t. The waves weren’t even that big. During sets, probably 6-7 max, but Dustin said it was much bigger before. Well, I just so happened to have my camera at the time, and I was taking videos for my physics video. I thought using the ocean’s waves were too generic, so I took this one instead. Its a picture of the sun reflecting off the side of the Waikiki Prince Hotel, my most favorite hotel in Waikiki. Because the hotel is perpendicular to the ground, only the vertical light waves are reflected off of it to make the glare. So, if one has polarized sunglasses, and tilts the glasses sideways, the glare should be blocked out. The glasses act as a filter to only let horizontal light through, and blocks out the vertically polarized glare.

This picture isn’t glare though, it’s the reflection of the setting Waikiki sun.
