Journal 5
Well this weekend, I ran a cross country race. It was 5km, and I ran it in 19 minutes and 30 seconds, which makes my average velocity 4.27 meters per second. 1-D Kinematics is awesome. But displacement is the time it takes to go from start to finish, and if the start and finish is the same point, then my avg. velocity is zero. So, 4.27 m/s would be my real average velocity if I ran in a straight line. But the race was like 3 laps around this field, so yeah. 19:30 is kinda slow. I somehow beat Taylor and Jumpei making me 5th runner on the Iolani varsity team… haha. It seems kinda fast when I say 4.27 m/s, but it’s not fast at all…. -___-. The winner of the varsity race ran like a 15 something… which is ridiculous. Those mainland runners are way too fast.
Anyway, after the cross country race, there was a pool party, and we threw this sponge football around. Clay got hit in the head. Haha. The football absorbed the pool’s water and increased it’s mass, which also increased it’s weight. This is because Mass (in kg) times Gravity (in m/s/s) = Weight (in Newtons). That’s what we were learning in AP Physics before I dropped. I got pretty owned on that test we had in class. I forgot some stuff and yeah. I got owned hard.
Here is a picture of me running to the finish in the cross country race this past weekend. I can’t embed it into this post because it’s copyrighted… so… I hope this isn’t illegal. I also hope that this link works and fulfills the picture requirement for each post. I look pretty tired. But I destroyed that guy running next to me. I lose to no one in sprinting at the end of the race!
Second Required Post

MS Paint is awesome. The background is from a picture my friend took in Australia. Here is the original with a photoshopped background. So, hopefully this is better than just getting any old picture from google image search.
University of San Francisco College Visit
So, to my dismay, my parents MOM decided to sign me up to go to the San Francisco College Visit, after school on Tuesday. Well, actually, I just got home because of it. It ran from 7 to 9, and it was pretty dull. The Director of Admissions seemed quite unprepared to talk about USF to Hawaii students and only discussed the usual and general facts that can be easily found on their website. So it wasted my night. Good thing I did my homework beforehand.
Oh I saw some other Iolani Students there: Lace Yamamoto, Rob Inouye, Ryoooooooo and Alice Chow. I was pretty impressed with some of the girls nevermind. Probably the best thing ever that night was the free deserts. Epic blueberry cheesecake. I love cheesecake.
Oh and on my nametag that they gave me… They misspelled Iolani. My nametag read “Lolani School.” My mom was laughing at that, and she probably doesn’t even know what lol stands for. So, haha on that. I am serious. Want to see my nametag? Its awesomely placed on my folder right now. Hah. I win.
Physics Test #2: Chapter 3-4
I’m not as optimistic about this test as much as the last test. Although I think I did the problems correctly, I have a feeling that there was some sort of small nuance I missed or made a calculation error somewhere. Jumpei said that it was ridiculously easy… I must be stupid or something. Epic fail…
You know what’s even more epic fail? Having an AP Stats test and an AP Calc test the day after the Physics test. boo. And there’s that war thing going on soon. Something about a presentation? idk. I gotta ask jumpei about that. Why do I have like 4 classes with Jumpei? Ridiculous. I have a reason to doubt because I ran a simulation showing that only 3.14159% of the time a person can have 4 or more classes with another person. Srsly, Stats is the the worst waste of time. I could be playing Albatross 18 or doing Physics homework… gosh!
